Accu-Steel Cattle Buildings
Accu-Steel cattle buildings have been pre-qualified for the Illinois Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP). The voluntary EQIP program offers financial and technical support to assist farmers in implementing conservation practices on eligible agricultural land. Through EQIP, the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) provides federal grant assistance to help farmers plan and implement practices that improve sustainability for energy, soil, water, plant, air, animal, and other natural resources on agricultural lands and private forest land.
Accu-Steel cattle buildings passed a rigorous qualification process to ensure all cattle structures will meet Illinois EQIP standards. The pre-engineered foundation of the cattle buildings helps to control manure runoff, improving animal waste management practices.
The pre-qualified status of an Accu-Steel cattle building not only helps producers meet the eligibility and application requirements of EQIP, but also offers cost advantages as well. “Being pre-qualified allows us to offset the expense of hiring an engineer to inspect each structure. That translates to a lower overall cost for the customer,” says Shane Schechinger, vice president agricultural sales, Accu-Steel.
